So I use GIMP. Exclusively.

For around 3 years now. Apparently this is weird.
*I* like it.

I was asked to put together a little thing on how I make an icon by some other people who use GIMP. Not really a tutorial, but maybe it will help? I don't know. I have never done this before. So I would suggest you have at least a slight working knowledge of GIMP, because I am not sure how clear this would be otherwise. I am willing to help though.

Curves Tutorial! :)

People seem to get all 'arghh!??' at curves, but they're really quite simple, and ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! So I've prepared a guide for how they can work, basics, and then some examples, and then some crazy thing that can be done :)

Wondering why you should check this out, happy with your current methods? I find curves to be a dream, easy to use, gives smooth colours, good for making images POP quite easily. What do you have to lose?

Thanks for getting through it! I hope you learned something or picked up some tips. If you want to know how I made an icon, NOW IS THE TIME TO REQUEST IT! :D I keep my psds, sometimes they're neat and tidy, other times v. messy, but I'll have a go at making the tutorial (especially if it involves curves!)
