A Picpsam/meta type thing for legendland












I love Cara in the books probably more than Cara in the series. Mostly because of a little bit of unfortunately writing and very powerful magic of course. Book Cara just shows steady growth throughout the books, ending with her being awesomely epic.

Cara, being a mordsith likes violence. She likes being in control and she doesn't cara about anyone or anything. She thinks she superior in every way. This starts to break down as she serves on the side of all things good and seekery, with Kahland and Richard and Zedd.

After "broken" we see her get a feel for who she is without being a proper mordsith. Wearing a dress, dealing with family, and ultimately been redeemed after hearing the story of her father.

Later, Comes Leo who is awesome and shirtless and makes her smile and generally care about people. She CARES. about Leo and you know she cares about kahlan and Richard and even Zedd. But you know, feelings. she doesn't really have them.

This episode shows some nightwisps (adorable little fairy folk) reduced to just one, pregnant, lonely, being. on the verge of being extinct, Cara and Kahlan must race the clock in order to get the nightwisp to its birthing ground asap.

Cara of course is left to the task. Not only does she talk to the adorable, adorable nightwisp, but she ends up saving the entire species. And in stead of rolling her eyes, and generally being unimpressed. She smiles. Epically. Its a thing of beauty.

Now this may sound like a good tale, but believe me its a million times better if you know how much of a hard ass Cara is. How she never smiles. How she grew up never knowing love.

And this, my friends. Is a story of awesome. :D
